Value, Balance and Proportion

Firstly set something like pottery in front of you and then give a clear view to the pottery. Point out the darkest part and lighter part of pottery. Then start working with the pottery. Firstly shape out the body of pottery then start working with value means shade. Here's the two pictures indicating the value with colors and also balance.  Commonly value means to make a clear viewing look or real look of a shape. Any work with real light and dark shading work could be consider as value work but should have real meaning like standing opposite to sun your backside will get a shadow.
Another important part is that balance and proportion. To balance a design is the most critical and most attractive thing. Balance line is the main thing in this balancing. Firstly have to draw a balance line on the shape which will be in the middle of the shape. Then can do symmetric and asymmetric balance on this shape. One can give background grading a balance look or can give the design main look without background. those two pictures are indicating this.
